Upcoming Informational Meeting and Vote

This Friday September 20th at 1800 we'll be hosting an Informational Meeting in the 2nd floor PD training room to discuss the upcoming vote on two proposals the Executive Board has been working on with the Administration for the last few months. All members are encouraged to attend. I will be emailing out a copy of the presentation to everyone after the meeting so anyone unable to attend will have the information.

The vote will be held next Thursday September 26th from 0700 to 1630 in the Patrol break room. Contact Secretary Dan Caruso if you are unable to make it and need an absentee ballot.

How can we have a supervisor subordinate evaluation system when there are supervisors that have complaints against them for lying and lack of integrity, and an administration that has refused to do anything about it? What safeguards are in place for the employee that has a supervisor with no integrity?

We wanted to ensure that subordinates had an opportunity to have a voice and review their Supervisors as well, so we negotiated a feedback section on the review form where the employee has an opportunity to say their piece. They can use it to review their Supervisor and/or voice issues, and dispute their review if they disagree with it. There is also an appeals process that goes through the chain of command. It's not perfect, but it's the best we could manage to ensure everyone has the chance to be heard.

The vote went through with no problems. I’m sure the other candidate that ran for president would have devoted the time and energy to get the membership that deal.
